March 2026 Update — What's New in Abraxas Forge
March 2026
It's been a busy couple of months at the Forge. Here's what's changed since our last update.
Rules As Written — The Big Compliance Pass
This is the headline: We audited and corrected every power, enhancement, limitation, and disadvantage template in the system against the Abraxas rulebook. Over 60 powers were reviewed and fixed — from Armor to Unusual Defense — along with every enhancement and limitation. Costs, dice formulas, form controls, and mechanics notes now match the book.
Some highlights from the pass:
- Ranged Attack and Melee Attack now calculate damage correctly with NND and Based on Primary/Secondary Characteristic enhancements
- Focus, Charges, Extra Time, Cooldown, and other limitations have accurate cost modifiers across all their options
- Reputation, Hunted, DNPC, and Distinctive Features disadvantages now include all the modifiers from the book
- Flat-cost powers display their notation correctly
- Embedded enhancements and limitations no longer double-count in cost calculations
If a character you built before looked slightly off on points, rebuild it. It should be right now.
Martial Arts on the Card
Martial arts maneuvers now show their Strike, Evasion, and Damage modifiers directly on the move card — no need to expand into the detail view. Mechanical Notes are also displayed inline, so you can reference a maneuver's rules at a glance during play.
Point Cost Tracker
A new sticky cost tracker sits at the bottom of the wizard, showing your CP budget in real time as you build. It combines with the step navigation bar so you always know where you stand without scrolling back to check.
Armor Quick-Select
The secondary attribute modifier modal now includes an armor quick-select — pick a common armor type, and it fills in the modifiers for you instead of entering each value by hand.
Equipment in Review
You can now manage equipment directly from the wizard's Review step — add, edit, and remove gear without jumping back to earlier steps. Equipment data also persists properly through save and reload.
Collapsible Advantage Cards
Advantage cards on the character sheet are now collapsible, so characters with a long list of advantages aren't an endless scroll. Click to expand the ones you need.
Markdown Everywhere
Item descriptions, game rules, and advantage/disadvantage cards now render Markdown — bold, italic, lists, and links all display properly instead of showing raw text.
Nerdy Stats Upgrades
The wizard's Nerdy Stats panel now shows Power Efficiency and Squeeze Factor, giving min-maxers a quick read on how efficiently they've spent their points.
Character Sheet Header
The character sheet header now displays species, occupation, CP total, campaign band, and genre at a glance — less clicking to find the basics.
Wizard Save Reliability
A round of save-pipeline fixes means your character data sticks:
- Personality and quote fields persist through save and reload
- Secondary attribute modifiers survive the review step
- Editing a character no longer risks creating a duplicate
- Updating a character no longer accidentally publishes it
- Over-budget characters can be saved as drafts
Cloud Draft Improvements
You can now duplicate a cloud draft to use an existing character as a starting point for a new build. Action buttons on draft cards no longer overflow on smaller screens.
What's Next
We're continuing to build out the marketplace — commissions, bundles, and creator tools are in active development. More on that soon.
